Freeing Children for Adoption

‚ÄčThe aim of this service is to assess, very sensitively, the situations of those children and young persons who could not live with their birth families and are unlikely to return there. These children and young persons have the right to live in a family and, if their birth family is unable to safeguard this right, it needs to be safeguarded through the provision of another family environment for them. This is already contemplated by law and this service will utilise its resources to ensure that the law is applied in the best interests of these children and young persons, acknowledging that a family environment is, usually, the best environment for these children and young persons.
