Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act (Cap. 496) aims to establish a right to information held by Public Authorities. The Act also lists exemptions from this right as well as placing a number of obligations on Public Authorities. In fulfilling its statutory obligations and in order to promote added transparency and accountability, the Foundation for Social Welfare Services (FSWS) is providing the following information which can be used as guidance to better inform the general public about its work and functions.

General Description of the Categories of Documents Held
 
The FSWS and its Agencies – Appoġġ, Sedqa and Sapport – hold various documents, including study reports, service forms, application forms, biennial reports, informative material, interactive material, amongst others.
 
The documents considered as publicly available are mostly readily available for access and/or download from their respective sections through the organisations’ websites. The general public is encouraged to explore our websites (www.appogg.gov.mt; www.sapport.gov.mt; www.sedqa.gov.mt) and freely access the required document/s that might help satisfy your query.
 
Kindly note that some of the information listed above is exempt from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act (Cap. 496) and Data Protection Act (Cap. 440).
