Looked After Children Health Service

​​Minors living in alternative care usually have particular health circumstances which arise out of their biological family. Children have physical, emotional problems and mental health problems. This service is run by a pediatrician who specializes in this field. Together with nurses, this aims to offer an individualized and comprehensive assessment for the children's health needs, as well as to see that these understand their health history and voice their opinion. 

Health recommendations are included in the child's care plan, which may include a referral to other health services. With the aim to work with other professionals and ensure that these children reach their full potential. The team will be following the guidelines issued by the social regulatory standards whereby children under five will be assessed at least twice a year and minors above the age of five are assessed once a year.​
