Resource Services


In adherence with the Agency's Holistic and Person-Centred Approach, the Resource Services work hand in hand with the person with disability and his/her family while striving to design and offer individualised support services that would enable and empower these persons to realise their vision, dreams and hopes and to enhance their quality of life.

The Resource Services are considered to be the backbone of the Community, Residential Services and Day Services offered by the Agency. Following the allocation of service, members of the Resource Team follow the person from the point of assessment through to the initiation of service, followed by regular, planned service reviews.

The service is provided by a team of professionals qualified and trained in the disability sector. The following are some of the tasks carried out by the Resource Services:

  • ensure adequate management of Sapport Residential and Community Services;
  • supply additional professional support to the Residential, Community and Day Services through the input of Professional Support Workers;
  • carry out any necessary professional assessments with persons with disability already in receipt of services, or whose services are in the process of initiation;
  • guarantee appropriate support to persons carrying out frontline duties in both the Residential and Community Services through a 24-hour, seven-days-a-week, On-Call System;
  • conduct and/or participate in regular reviews to ensure effective service provision in relation to Community, Residential and Day Services clients.
