Under the patronage of Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, the FSWS hosted a conference marking 30 years of dedication to supporting victims of domestic abuse. This event served to not only commemorate the significant strides made in combating this societal issue but also to raise awareness about the available support services and encourage victims or those at risk to reach out for help.
The conference featured impactful speeches by Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta; Hon. Dr Michael Falzon, Minister for Social Policy and Children’s Rights; Ms Rebecca Buttigieg, Parliamentary Secretary for Equality and Reform; Hon. Mr Albert Buttigieg, Opposition Spokesperson for Family Affairs and Social Solidarity; Dr Lydia Abela; Ms Anne Marie Grech; Mr Alfred Grixti, FSWS Chief Executive Officer; and Ms Graziella Castillo, Director of Appoġġ.
The event also included a panel discussion with professionals actively working to combat domestic violence, providing valuable insights into this critical issue.
