The function of the Oncology Social Work Service is to assist the cancer patients and their family members from a social perspective, such as providing emotional support to the individuals and or their families to deal with the shock/trauma of the diagnosis, as well as supporting them throughout the treatment process, liaising with entities for resources required by the individual/family, assisting with social security aspects, and others.
