The Position

The Foundation for Social Welfare Services invites applications for part-time Social Work Students. Workers may be asked to deliver their service within any of the Foundation’s entities as requested by Management.

The Role

The role of the Social Work Students primarily entails: assisting the Social Worker:
• on cases with various client groups;
• in care plans/action plans;
• during participation in case conferences/case reviews to ensure a holistic and integrated action.

The selected students will work as part of a team and will receive supervision. They are expected to work on their own
initiative but under the guidance of the Agencies’ Management. Participation during crisis intervention is also part and
parcel of the job requirements.

Social Work Students are accountable to the Leader of the Service.


The Persons

Applying Students must be reading a Social Work Course from a recognised entity, leading to a Social Work Qualification
and who have successfully completed their first year and progressing to the second year or to any other years.

 
Furthermore, the candidates must be able to communicate in both Maltese and English to the benefit of the clients.
However, those candidates who are not able to communicate in Maltese and are willing to learn the language may also
be considered by management on a case-by-case basis.


Qualifications and experience claimed must be supported by certificates and/or testimonials. Applicants in possession of
a foreign qualification/s are to produce with their application, a recognition statement on comparability of qualifications issued by the Malta Qualification Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC). In addition, candidates are requested to submit an updated Curriculum Vitae, two (2) reference letters and a valid police conduct.
