The Position

The Foundation for Social Welfare Services invites applications for the role of Social Welfare Professionals within the Directorate for Alternative Care.

Without prejudice to the necessity that may arise, the selected candidate may be transferred by the management to another service, depending on the needs of the Foundation’s services.

The Role

The role of Social Welfare Professional is primarily to work with children and young people who are in care. These children may either be in a residential home or in foster care. This includes working with all the people involved in the children’s lives, including the biological parents. The selected persons shall participate in conducting prepared care plans, participate in case review meetings, prepare documents as directed by management and appear in court when required to give feedback.

Social Welfare Professionals are expected to work on their own initiative but under the guidance of the agency’s management particularly during crisis interventions.

The Persons

The individuals interested in this role shall be in possession of a Degree in Humanities (MQF level 6).

To be eligible for interview, you must be over twenty-one (21) years of age and fluent in Maltese and English. The qualifications and experience stated must be supported by certificates and/or attestations. Applicants who hold a foreign qualification must submit a Statement of Recognition of Comparability of Qualifications issued by the Malta Qualification Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) together with their application. In addition, applicants are requested to submit an updated CV with contact details of (2) references and a valid original police conduct.
