The Foundation for Social Welfare Services invites applications for the post of a full-time Supportline (179) Operators within Agenzija Appogg. This role is expected to operate on shift basis which shall include weekends and nights. Supportline 179 is the national helpline offering support, information about local social welfare services and other agencies, and a referral service to callers who require support. It is also a national service to people who are in times of difficulty or crisis.
The Role
The role of the operator shall be to take calls received on the 179 supportline. Primarily, the selected candidate will be expected to provide phone interventions geared towards supporting individuals who seek support from the service. The service may require the selected person to address crisis situations presented in the calls and liaise effectively with relevant professionals to help manage the matter in a timely and effective manner. Operators are also expected to produce referrals where necessary as well as ensuring that all pertinent handover documentation and material are kept up to date at all times.
The Supportline (179) operator shall be accountable to the leader of the Supportline (179) and/or any of his delegates.
The Persons
Individuals interested in this role must be in possession of a minimum of 3 ‘O’ Levels which must include at least a PASS grade in Mathematics, English and Maltese. Candidates who have an MQF level 4 or higher will also be eligible. Interested candidates should be at least 25 years age at the time of the closure of the call.
Candidates must be fluent in Maltese and English to be eligible for an interview.
Qualifications and experience claimed must be supported by certificates and/or testimonials. Applicants in possession of a foreign qualification/s are to produce with their application, a recognition statement on comparability of qualifications issued by the Malta Qualification Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC). In addition, candidates are requested to submit an updated CV, including 2 referees’ contact details and a valid police conduct.
