The Position

The Foundation for Social Welfare Services invites applications for the role of Social Welfare Professionals within the Gozo Directorate.

The Role

The Foundation for Social Welfare Services (FSWS) is seeking to recruit a motivated and dedicated Social Welfare Professional (SWP) to join its multidisciplinary team within services operating in Gozo.

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Service Area Leader and Services Manager, providing practical and professional support to individuals, families and communities in line with agreed intervention plans. The role includes supporting service users in accessing appropriate services and community resources, accompanying clients to appointments where required, participating in office, community and home visits, maintaining accurate records and documentation, and contributing to the delivery of programmes and interventions that promote wellbeing and social inclusion.

The Social Welfare Professional is expected to work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders while demonstrating initiative, professionalism and a person-centred approach. The role requires flexibility, effective communication skills and the ability to respond appropriately to challenging and crisis situations, while undertaking any other duties related to the service as directed by management.

The Persons

Individuals interested in this role must possess a full qualification of MQF Level 6 Degree in Humanities, Psycho-Social Sciences and Social Field.

Candidates must be fluent in Maltese and English to be eligible for an interview. Qualifications and experience claimed must be supported by certificates and/or testimonials. Applicants in possession of a foreign qualification/s are to produce with their application, a recognition statement on comparability of qualifications issued by the Malta Qualification Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC).
