The Foundation for Social Welfare Services invites applications for the role of Social Welfare Professionals within the Directorate for Alternative Care. The Paulo Freire Institute, a Jesuit-founded non-profit in Żejtun, is dedicated to empowering vulnerable individuals through literacy, community development, and social work.
Without prejudice to the necessity that may arise, the selected candidate may be transferred by the management to another service, depending on the needs of the Foundation’s services.
The Role
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Social Welfare Professional to join our interdisciplinary team and support the social worker. In this role one will contribute to holistic community support by conducting one-to-one and group interventions, linking families and individuals to our literacy, counselling, and non-formal education programmes, and collaborating with local partners and stakeholders. One will serve as a trusted point of contact for clients, helping them navigate barriers, strengthen self-development, and actively participate in initiatives like our reading clubs, adult learning courses, and community outreach.
The Persons
The individuals interested in this role shall be in possession of a minimum of MQF Level 6 in Humanities.
Candidates must be fluent in Maltese and English to be eligible for an interview. Qualifications and experience claimed must be supported by certificates and/or testimonials. Applicants in possession of a foreign qualification/s are to produce with their application, a recognition statement on comparability of qualifications issued by the Malta Qualification Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC). In addition candidates are requested to submit an updated CV together with a recent police conduct, two (2) referees and a copy of their certificates.
