The Position

The Foundation for Social Welfare Services invites applications for the post of Full Time Support Workers within the Directorate for Alternative Care.

The Role

Selected candidates shall form part of a team that provides support to individuals in a residential setting. The Support Worker shall help the service users to develop independence and general life skills. It is also expected that the Support Worker provides stimulating activities according to the needs presented. Furthermore, Support Workers will also be required to undertake day-to-day duties related to the overall running of the residential setting.

The opportunities available will be based on a shift schedule which can include day and night shifts, as well as shifts during the weekend or public holidays.

The Persons

The individuals interested in this role shall be in possession of a formal accredited certificate at MQF Level 3 or higher in Social Care or a related field.

Successful Candidates shall attend an internal training on Mandatory Skills offered by the Foundation in relation to their work.

Experience in direct work with children will be considered as an asset with any of the above-mentioned criteria. 

Candidates over twenty one (21) years of age shall be given preference as the job entails working with adolescents as well as children. Additionally candidates must be fluent in Maltese and English to be eligible for an interview. Qualifications and experience claimed must be supported by certificates and/or testimonials. Applicants in possession of a foreign qualification/s are to produce with their application, a recognition statement on comparability of qualifications issued by the Malta Qualification Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC). In addition candidates are requested to submit an updated CV together with a copy of qualifications, a recent police conduct, and contacts of two (2) referees.
