The Foundation for Social Welfare Services invites applications for the role of Social Welfare Professional with Agenzija Appogg within the Active Ageing and Community Care.
Without prejudice to the need that may arise, the selected candidate may be transferred to another service by the Management depending on the needs of the Foundation’s services.
The Role
The role of Social Welfare Professional is primarily to ensure that seniors are served to the highest professional standard through timely interventions under the direction of the leader of Service. The selected individuals will participate in the development of action plans and execute them under the direction and guidance of the leader and Coordinator of the service. Selected candidates will be tasked with empowering our senior service users to live independently and work towards defusing current and emerging stressful situations.
Social Welfare Professionals will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and receive training and ongoing guidance from the agency management during their employment. Active involvement in crisis intervention is an essential part of the role to ensure the wellbeing of senior service users in times of crisis. Applicants must be highly committed and empathy and optimal communication skills are essential for success.
The Persons
Individuals interested in this position must hold a degree in Humanities (MQF level 6) or equivalent qualification.
Candidates must be fluent in Maltese and English to be eligible for an interview. Qualifications and experience claimed must be supported by certificates and/or testimonials. Applicants in possession of a foreign qualification/s are to produce with their application, a recognition statement on comparability of qualifications issued by the Malta Qualification Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC). In addition, candidates are requested to submit an updated CV including 2 referees’ contacts and valid police conduct.
